This sink was design as an assignment for another company.
In this design the surface to put your cosmetics on and the drain are basically the same. Water will fall through the perforated bamboo top and will be drained underneath.
Visually the sink seems pretty flat because of the sharp edges. Bamboo was used because it handles water pretty well.
